What’s Inside Our Scented Tallow, Rosehip Oil, Rose Clay, and Silk Fiber Soap Bar
Ingredients: Saponified Tallow, Water, Saponified Coconut Oil, Saponified Castor Oil, Rosehip Oil, Rose Clay, Sugar, Sodium Lactate, Rosemary Oleoresin Extract, Essential Oil of Sweet Orange, Lavender, Litsea, and Tussah Silk.
Our soap is made with a thoughtful blend of intentionally gentle ingredients.
Why we used these specific ingredients:
- Beef Tallow: We chose tallow as our primary fat because its fatty acid profile is remarkably similar to human skin. This allows the bar to nourish and protect your skin barrier rather than just sitting on the surface.
- 12% Superfat: By leaving 12% of the oils unsaponified, we’ve created a "Cleansing Balm" in bar form. This extra tallow stays on your skin, providing excellent hydration.
- Coconut Oil: This provides the gentle cleaning power, creating a bubbly lather that lifts away impurities without being harsh.
- Castor Oil: A natural humectant that draws moisture to the skin and transforms the soap’s bubbles into a thick, creamy, lotion-like foam.
- Rosehip Oil: This is your "luxury" oil. It’s famous for being packed with vitamins A and C, which help with skin regeneration and brightening. In soap, it adds a moisturizing boost that makes the bar feel much more premium than a standard cleanser.
- Rose Clay: This provides that beautiful, natural pink color, but it’s also a very mild cleanser. Unlike stronger clays, Rose Clay is gentle on sensitive skin. It helps draw out light impurities while giving the soap a nice "slip" during use.
- Silk Fibers (Tussah Silk): This is the secret to the texture. The silk dissolves in the lye water, adding a noticeable "silky" or velvety feel to the lather. It makes the bar feel much smoother against the skin and adds a touch of luxury to the soap.
- Rosemary Oleoresin Extract: is a completely natural antioxidant derived from rosemary leaves. We include a tiny drop of it in our recipes to protect our nutrient-rich fats and oils from oxidizing on the shelf. This naturally extends the shelf life of our artisan bars, keeping them smelling fresh and looking beautiful for much longer. It is not used for scent, so it will never interfere with our custom essential oil blends.
